Walk4Friendship is an annual community walk that raises crucial funds and awareness for Friendship Circle - a nonprofit organization for individuals with special needs.
Walk4Friendship begins with an inspirational opening ceremony followed by a one-and-a-half-mile family walk. Upon reaching the finish line, walkers will enjoy a post-walk celebration with entertainment, activities, food and much more!

The route starts at Friendship Circle's Farber Center and ends at Friendship Circle's Meer Center. The walk is about 1.7 miles. For those who prefer not to walk, a shuttle will be available 15 minutes after the walk starts to transport you to Meer Center.
WALK PARKING
Parking will be at Temple Israel, 5725 Walnut Lake Road, West Bloomfield. We strongly suggest you arrive at the Temple Israel parking lot by 10:30 am to ensure you don’t miss the opening ceremony.
The police will be closing off Drake Rd. and Walnut Lake Rd. from 11:30 am - 12:15 pm. In order to access Temple Israel parking, you must be in the Temple Israel Parking lot by 11:15 am. The police will not make any exceptions.
Wheelchair accessible parking: Wheelchair accessible parking is available at Temple Israel. There is a wheelchair equipped shuttle to opening ceremonies. Please let a staff member know that you need a wheelchair accessible bus.
CONVENIENT SHUTTLES AVAILABLE
To the opening ceremony: There will not be shuttles to Farber Center. It is only a 5 minute walk from Temple Israel to Farber Center for opening ceremony. Wheelchair accessible shuttles will be available upon request.
From the opening ceremonies to the Meer Center: Fifteen minutes after the walk begins, supporters who prefer not to walk can take a shuttle directly to the Meer Center, where they can cheer on family and friends!
From the carnival to Temple Israel: There are convenient shuttles available from Meer Center to your vehicles at Temple Israel. Shuttles will be located down the dirt path on the North side of campus, next to Friendship House. This path leads you to Golden Lane subdivision where shuttles will be parked. Shuttles will be available to return supporters to Temple Israel until 3:00 pm. Wheelchair accessible shuttles will be available upon request.

When is Walk4Friendship?
Walk4Friendship will be held on Sunday, September 1st, 2024.
Is there a fee to register?
No, the event is free. However, we encourage everyone to take part in the day by fundraising beforehand. Knowing you have your family & friends support makes it even more fulfilling and fun!
If I have pre-registered, do I need to check-in somewhere?
If you registered online and picked up your T-shirt from Friendship Circle in advance you do not need to check in.
Can I register on the day of the walk?
Yes, registration tables will be at the Farber Center opening ceremony. Registration will open at 10:30 AM. To minimize your wait time we recommend registering online. Click here to register.
Is there a fee to receive a Walk4Friendship t-shirt?
T-shirts are free to walk registrants that register online before the walk and to people who register the day of the walk on location, as long as it is before the opening ceremony. Walk T-shirts will be available at the post-walk carnival for $5.
Where should I park?
Parking will be at Temple Israel, 5725 Walnut Lake Road, West Bloomfield. We strongly suggest you arrive at the Temple Israel parking lot by 10:30 am to ensure you don’t miss the opening ceremony. If you arrive between 11:15 am and 12:30 pm, you will need to park at the Jewish Community Center, 6600 West Maple Road (north side of the Berman Theater lot). If you arrive after 12:30, you may resume parking at Temple Israel.
The police will be closing off Walnut Lake road from 11:30 am - 12:15 pm. In order to access Temple Israel Parking, you must be in the Temple Israel Parking lot by 11:15 am. The police will not make any exceptions.
Are shuttles available?
Yes, shuttles are available during and after the walk. Please read below:
To the opening ceremony: Shuttles will transport participants who need assistance from Temple Israel to the Farber Center starting at 9:30 am and will run regularly until 11:15 am.
From the opening ceremonies to the Meer Center: Fifteen minutes after the walk begins, supporters who prefer not to walk can take a shuttle directly to the Meer Center, where they can cheer on family and friends!
NOTE: As there will be no Temple Israel shuttle service after 11:15, those arriving later will need to walk to the Farber Center from the parking lot. Likewise, those leaving the event will need walk from the Farber Center to Temple Israel. Luckily it's only a 5 minute walk. Of course, and as mentioned above, there will be wheelchair accessible accommodations for those who need them.
Is there Wheelchair Accessible Parking?
Wheelchair accessible parking is available at Temple Israel. There is a wheelchair equipped shuttle to opening ceremonies. Please let a staff member know that you need a wheelchair accessible bus. Valet golf-cart service is available from the Farber Center to Temple Israel for those who need it.
Can I come to only the activities at the Meer Center?
Yes, you can. Activities will be running from 12:00 PM-3:00 PM.
What happens if it rains?
The event must go on! We will accommodate the rain changes by moving most of our activities inside. If severe weather is expected, we will send you a text message with a "rain-plan". on the morning of the walk. Will there be food & water? Is there a charge?
Yes, we will be providing food & refreshments both at the Farber Center & Meer. All food & refreshments are free of charge!
Will there be any services for emergencies throughout the day?
Yes, we will have a first aid station along with the West Bloomfield Fire Department and Ambulance on hand.
